And the Readathon has started! I am quickly filling in the opening survey so I can quickly start with reading. After I got my cup of coffee. No, my preparations are not the best, whoops. Well, here we go.

Opening Event Survey:

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
I am reading from the Netherlands in my own humble home. Today I have the house for my own, so that is also nice.
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
I am very much interested in the Cruel Prince. I don’t know a lot, which makes it even more excited.
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
I am mostly excited for the coffee actually, hahaha.
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I am Rianne and I live in Utrecht with my boyfriend. I am 26 years old and I really enjoy writing and reading.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today?
I don’t think I am going to do anything different. I want to read more, but that’s it. I want to read as much as I can.

And that’s it! I am going to start reading in Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell now!

3:39

And we’re already almost 4 hours in! I am having a blast reading the book Wayward Son. It is such a cool book! I like the humor and I love the setting. It’s just so much fun to read this and I am very happy that I started with this book.

Sadly the day isn’t really going as planned. I have made a trip to the test center to get another Covid test. Luckily there was nothing going on, the test came out as negative and apparently I am just having a normal headache. Luckily I am feeling better than earlier today. Probably the water and the warm blankets work.

I will probably get food soon (it is almost dinner time here in the Netherlands) and then read more and more and more. Enjoy reading everyone! And see you later.

And I finished the first book! I decided to go and read for the long haul so I could finish this book quickly, and finally I did. Wayward Son is a really fun book. I really enjoyed it. I loved reading about the magickal world of America and the vampires and how the world worked with the rules and such. I lived for Simon and Baz, I really did. Now it is time to rest for a little while. Maybe take a shower, take a walk outside, and then I will start reading The Cruel Prince by Holly Black.

Tomorrow I have to go on a little car ride to a hospital for the visiting hour there, so I want to read on my e-reader in that time. Therefore I will start reading in the physical book now. Excited to see what this book is like (I don’t know a lot, not anything, actually…)

12:02

We’re halfway! And I am still awake! For a bit though, because I am going to bed very very soon. I have read almost third of the way through The Cruel Prince and I think it is amazing! I didn’t know a lot and it was very cool to be surprised by everything this world has to bring me. I am hooked and I really want to continue reading… if I also didn’t need to go to bed. Tomorrow is a new day, so it is time to go to the dream world. Hopefully there are no mean Faeries there.

And it is the new day! For me then. I have been awake for a few hours already, and I have started reading already for the day, of course. There are only like 2 hours left in The Cruel Prince at the moment, so I am fairly certain that I will be able to finish it today. I am not sure if I will start the last book on my list, though. Probably not, because that will become too much of a rush. I remember that this is mostly how my readathons end. That I give up on the last book I wanted to read and just don’t read anything for the last few hours. I am not sure if that is a problem though. Any ideas on that?
